Rubby De La Rosa is looking to break his two game losing streak against a Giants team that has struggled against him in the past.
Last time De La Rosa faced the Giants at AT&T Park, he threw eight shutout innings.
It’ll be interesting if Chip Hale allows him to pitch again on this roadie because De La Rosa did not pitch well against the Dodgers in his last outing.
On Sept. 12, De La Rosa lasted just two innings and gave up six runs on nine hits. Prior to that, he suffered the loss on Sept. 6 against the Chicago Cubs after going five innings and giving up three runs on five hits.
Bumgarner, meanwhile, has continued to be one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball this season. He’s trying to become the Giants’ first left-hander to win 20 games since Ron Bryant in 1973.
He’s gone 2-1 in his last three games, picking up wins against the Rockies and the Padres.
His first win of the season came against the D-backs on opening day, April 6, in a game which he pitched 7 innings and gave up one run on six hits.
