Jeremy Hellickson’s return from the Disabled List last week did not go as planned at all. The D-backs right hander last only one inning against the San Diego Padres. He gave up three runs on three hits in an eventual 10-3 loss. The game started when Hellickson gave up a leadoff homer, walks to the next two batters and a wild throw into center field for an error.
Obviously, he’s hoping to turn things around this Sunday against the Giants.
Hellickson owns the second-most amount of wins on the D-backs staff this season. He follows Rubby De La Rosa, who has tallied 12 wins so far this season.
He’s posting a 4.78 ERA this season in 130 innings pitched and has gone 2-1 over his last three starts.
The Giants have not named a starter for Sunday.
