After going 6-4 on their final road trip of the 2015 season, the Arizona Diamondbacks (75-81) host the Colorado Rockies and the Houston Astros in the final six games of the regular season.
The D-backs will play under the roof of Chase Field for the final time under next April when, coincidently, they kick off the 2016 season against the Rockies.
The Rockies have brought out the best of the D-backs this season. In the 16 games they have played, the D-backs own 10 wins. Until two weeks ago, that was the highest win total against any opponent this season for the D-backs.
After taking two-of-three from the San Francisco Giants two weekends ago, the D-backs finished the season 11-8 against the defending World Champions.
Overall, the D-backs have had another disappointing year after flirting with a .500 record for a majority of the season.
They have long-since been eliminated from playoff contention and currently sit six games under .500 (so I mean, if the D-backs win-out this week, they could possibly finish the season 81-81 for the third time in four years. But, that’s a stretch.)
Despite the losing record, the D-backs have improved from last season’s 64-98 record when they finished 30 games out.
Let’s see if they can build on that win total this week as they push for a strong finish here in 2015.
Let’s take a look at the pitching match ups….
