Christian Bergman is a second-year pitcher for the Rockies out of UC Irvine. In his career, he is 6-6 with a 5.24 ERA in 115 innings pitched.
He has appeared in 28 games this season for Colorado and picked up his first win since May 21 two outings ago.
This will be just his third start of the season. Last time out, he was slapped with his first loss of the season after giving up seven earned runs on 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
After going winless in the month of August, Robbie Ray picked up his second win of September in his last start against the Dodgers. Both wins this month have come courtesy of the Los Angeles. It was his 5th win overall this season.
On Tuesday, Ray threw six scoreless innings against the boys in blue. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out seven. Two weeks ago, Ray threw five scoreless innings against the Dodgers en route to his fourth win of the season.
It has been nice to see the D-backs’ youngster have a strong finish against an NL West rival. After struggling mightily this season, he did not allow the Dodgers to score in the final month of the season.
