David Hale is high off a win in his last start Friday night against the Dodgers.

He held Los Angeles to one run on five hits in his five innings of work. It was the second time this month that he defeated the first place Dodgers, holding them to one run in the two combined starts.

Hale has bounced up and down between the big leagues and the minors this season. Most recently, he was optioned to Albuquerque on August 24, but was recalled on September 4 in place of injured left-hander Yohan Flande who was hit on the left knee by a line drive during his last start.

Patrick Corbin has not been so lucky against Los Angeles this month. He is 1-2 in his last three starts of September, losing both games to the Dodgers. He picked up a win against the Giants two weeks ago and is looking to finish the season with a win instead of dropping to a .500 record in his bounce-back year.

Corbin was activated from the 60-day Disabled List on July 4 and has had a decent run in the second-half of the season. Despite the two losses to the Dodgers, Corbin has had a strong final month of the season. Three of his six wins have come in September.

He won two in a row to start the month. It was a short streak that started against the Rockies. Corbin defeated Colorado on September 1 after throwing 6 1/3 innings where he gave up two runs on seven hits.
