To go along with that stellar Buffaloes rushing game, Christian Powell has certainly been a big contributor to the Colorado game plan.

The senior from Upland, California has racked up 275 rushing yards on 51 attempts this season and has found the end zone four times. He also owns 64 receiving yards.

Powell leads the Buffaloes with his four rushing TDs this year and is second in total rushing yards, just five shy of the leader Phillip Lindsay.

Last weekend against the Ducks, Powell ran ten times for 30 yards and picked up a touchdown.

Coming into his senior year, Powell was ranked 23rd on Colorado’s all-time rushing yards list with 1,701 yards. If he breaks 1,800 yards in 2015, he’ll become the 18th player in school history to accomplish that feat.

Powell was forced to miss two games last season after suffering a concussion, but appeared in 10 games and has led the team in rushing for three years in a row.

It’ll be interesting to see how he matches up against the Sun Devil defense that dominated against UCLA last week. Arizona State coach Todd Graham has focused so much of his time on building a strong defensive unit since his arrival.

It’s guys like Powell that Graham is focused on defending. After their beatdown of the Bruins, Arizona State will come in with a lot of confidence having just stomped a top 10 school.

Powell had a relatively average game last time out against the Sun Devils. He picked up 118 yards, but never found the end zone.
