On Wednesday Rubby De La Rosa will be on the mound for the Diamondbacks against the Dodgers’ Alex Wood. De La Rosa has always seemed to have “stuff” but has lost control of the ball at times, and lost his first start against the Cubs. Rubby will need to find his location in order to get the Diamondbacks back in the win column. Alex Wood for the Dodgers struggled in his first start, pitching four scoreless but then giving up five runs in the next one-plus inning against the Giants. He was unable to hold the 4-0 lead over San Francisco, and will want to improve in this start against the Diamondbacks.

In the final game of this three game series, Robbie Ray and Ross Stripling will be on the mound for the Diamondbacks and Dodgers respectively. Ray had a good outing against the Cubs, allowing just two runs in six innings. The Diamondbacks were able to walk off in the 9th inning, so Ray received a no-decision. The team would like to see Ray pitch another good game, and give the team the opportunity to win the game. Ross Stripling has a perfect start in his game against the Giants, being pulled from his no-hitter after 7 1/3 innings. His performance was good enough to earn him this start in the third game of the series.

Watching the Diamondbacks and Dodgers square off is always fun, and this series should match the same intensity of the previous match-ups.
