The Arizona Diamondbacks hit the road for the first time on Tuesday and the team had their first chance to don their horrible road uniforms in Los Angeles.

Sure, the Diamondbacks came away with a 4-2 victory on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but did the team do it in style? Hell no.

The Diamondbacks rocked a gray top with gray pants and teal accents and the uniform combination was definitely not a sight for sore eyes.

Actor Rob Lowe even chipped in his piece of mind on the Diamondbacks uniforms…

The gray uniforms look like the players are sweating endlessly in the middle of an Arizona Summer. I get it, some fans like the new look and the idea that the Diamondbacks are turning the page after a couple of rough seasons, but if management’s idea is to make the team look like the Oregon Ducks with the different uniform combinations they are failing epically.

I may be too much of a baseball purist, but I like the traditional home whites, road grays, and one alternate jersey. The Diamondbacks have eight base uniforms this season, which is far too much for me. Then again, I am just one opinion on the matter. But, others also agree with my mindset…

Sports these days are beginning to turn into a fashion show as well as a sporting event. This mentality really came about when Oregon started to introduce their different uniform combinations. Oregon has 17,280 uniform combinations and could wear a different combination every game until the year 3344. Obviously the Diamondbacks are not anywhere near that level, but at the same time they have the most uniform combinations by far of any MLB team today.

Please, Diamondbacks, don’t make this a reality Grant Brisbee or I have to face in the future…

We will get to see a lot more of these road grays as the Diamondbacks are just one game into a 10-game road-trip that will take them through Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.

First pitch for game two of the road-trip will be at 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday night from Dodger Stadium as Rubby De La Rosa will take on Alex Wood.
