Sam Bradford is a Pro’s Pro

If you’re a fan of the Arizona Cardinals, you have to be happy that the team brought Sam Bradford in for the 2018 NFL season. After Carson Palmer retired, it was expected that the team would draft a QB. In the meantime, though, they needed a guy to take Palmer’s chair and Bradford is a perfect successor.

Besides the things he’s teaching Arizona’s future quarterback, Josh Rosen, Bradford has proven he can still play at a high level. In the first preseason game, he led a touchdown drive on his only possession but we didn’t get to see him sling it around a bit. On Friday, however, everyone got a better glimpse as to what we can expect from No. 9.

Bradford, now with his fourth NFL franchise, looks the part — both from a talent perspective and on the mental side. During his three drive against New Orleans, he proved that he can move away from pressure, make all the throws necessary, and manage the offense in spite of penalties. Additionally, he took what the defense gave him, a true sign of a pro, and didn’t force things. By the time he handed things over to Rosen in the second quarter, the Cardinals were up by a touchdown.

In total, Bradford was a perfect 6-for-6 on throws, each one going to a different receiver. So far in the preseason, Bradford hasn’t thrown an incomplete pass.

It should be noted that the offensive line also played very well, a group currently ranked No. 27 out of 32 NFL teams by Pro Football Focus.
