5 Notable NFL Veterans on the Arizona Cardinals Coaching Staff
Larry Foote, Linebackers Coach
NFL Games: 187
A two-time Super Bowl champion with Pittsburgh, Foote played a lengthy career in the NFL. Eleven of his 13 NFL seasons came with the Steelers, recording 21 sacks and seven forced fumbles. Ironically, he was a teammate of Byron Leftwich with Pittsburgh.
In 2014, Foote finished his career with the Arizona Cardinals.
Foote joined Arizona’s staff in 2015 as the assistant linebackers coach only to be promoted to linebackers coach in 2016. Like Leftwich and Heiden, he was also retained by Wilks.
Terry Allen, Assistant Running Backs Coach
NFL Games: 130
In his 10-year NFL career, Allen recorded three 1,000-yard seasons on the ground and made a Pro Bowl in 1996 with the Washington Redskins. During his outstanding 1996 season, he rushed for a career-high 1,353 yards and led the NFL with 21 rushing touchdowns.
He ranks No. 28 in all-time rushing touchdowns with 73.
Allen joined the Cardinals in 2017 as the team’s assistant running backs coach. He came to the team as part of the Bill Bidwell Fellowship Program, designed to give “recently-retired minority NFL players with the opportunity to gain coaching experience at the highest level.”
