Old Friends:

  • Daniel Hudson: You remember him, right? Back in 2011, Hudson won 16 games, posted a 3.49 ERA, and hit .277 at the plate. The D-Backs won the NL West and Hudson won a Silver Slugger Award. Unfortunately, he had Tommy John Surgery in 2012 and wound up in the bullpen when he returned in 2014. He was traded to Pittsburgh after the 2016 season and signed with the Dodgers prior to this year. Despite being on the 10-day DL right now, Hudson’s appeared in 40 games.
  • Turner Ward: Currently the Dodgers’ hitting coach, Ward spent time with Arizona as a player (1999-2000) and as their hitting coach (2013-2015). Despite appearing in just 25 regular season games as a Diamondback, the 11-year veteran made Arizona’s playoff roster in 1999 and homered in three NLDS plate appearances. It was Ward’s only appearance in the postseason.
  • Zack Greinke: Arizona’s ace played with the Dodgers from 2013-2015 before joining the D-Backs. As a Dodger, he joined Clayton Kershaw as the league’s best one-two punch. In 92 regular season starts, he racked up an insane 51-15 record with a 2.30 ERA. Greinke will start Game 2 against his old team.
