Things could get dark on September 8th at Sun Devils Stadium as the Arizona State football program prepares for a blackout against Michigan State.

If you’re an Arizona State football fan, you’ve got to be riding pretty high these days. The team is fresh off a monster win in Herm Edwards’ debut and now it’s time to host a nationally ranked team at Sun Devils Stadium.

Over 50,000 fans came to the opening game against UTSA which made for a great atmosphere. On September 8th, though, it’s going to get turned up a notch when the Michigan State Spartans come to town.

Instead of the regular maroon and gold duds in the stands, fans and supporters are asked to go black for the showdown in Tempe. It worked last year in their nationally televised home game against No. 5 Washington, so why not here?

As House of Sparky pointed out, the Sun Devils have actually made it a habit of performing well during these blackout games in recent years.

And it won’t just be the fans pulling a Kenny Powers when Michigan State rolls up to Sun Devils Stadium; the official Sun Devils Football account tweeted out their sweet ensemble for the game on Tuesday night and guess what? Black on black on black.

They’ve got quarterback Manny Wilkins modeling the blacked-out duds, complete with a dedication to the Arizona flag smack dab in the middle. The uniforms look amazing, and if you believe in the words of Deion Sanders, they should play like it, too. After all, they’ll definitely have a monster home-field advantage.
