3 Yards Per Completion By Sam Bradford

I don’t know if Sam Bradford has had a nickname in his career but around Arizona, he should be known as “Captain Checkdown.” Bradford, for whatever reason, just doesn’t push the ball down the field enough. In turn, he had just 90 yards on 27 attempts — three yards per completion.

When you look at that number, then look across the field to Jared Goff, it’s unbelievable. Goff averaged over 300 percent more yards per completion than Bradford (10.1 to 3.0).

You could argue that his receivers aren’t getting separation but I’d say he’s just being complacent. Of his 17 completions, only seven went to wide receivers (four to Christian Kirk; three to Larry Fitzgerald) and none were for more than 15 yards.

Of his 27 attempts, about half were thrown to receivers (14).

To be fair to him, he made a few nice throws early but they couldn’t find a rhythm.

3-for-12 on Third Down By Offense

Against the Rams, Sam Bradford was only able to collect three first downs on third down…out of 12 tries. That’s really, really ugly.

Los Angeles, by comparison, secured eight on 15 tries.

This all goes back to Bradford not wanting to push the ball down the field. I’ve been Team Bradford all throughout the offseason, preseason, and Week 1; now, however, I believe the team needs a change to boost their spirits.

Josh Rosen would be my quarterback moving forward. It’s time to shake things up in the desert.
