Shaquille Harrison and Darrell Arthur were waived by the Phoenix Suns as they prepare for their final roster.

Earlier, I wrote about the Phoenix Suns potentially signing veteran Jamal Crawford and the impact he would have. Hours later, the rumors became official as Crawford put his name on the dotted line. With that, the Phoenix Suns needed to make some moves in order to get their roster down to 15. As of a few hours ago, they started handing out pink slips.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Phoenix Suns officially waived Shaquille Harrison and Darrell Arthur.

One more move is needed in order to get them to their Opening Night roster, and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Davon Reed is likely the guy.

Per Woj, the team was exploring trades for Reed but if they fall apart, he’ll be waived. No official word has come out as to that happening yet.

A few weeks ago, Shaquille Harrison was starting point guard for Phoenix to start the preseason. Unfortunately for him, a mix of inconsistent play and management changes paved the way for his exit. Additionally, Crawford was signed and Devin Booker has healed faster than expected from his hand injury.

In over 22 minutes per game this preseason, Harrison was disappointing. He shot under 35 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from deep, and managed to average more turnovers (2.5) than assists (2.3) per game. The latter, in my opinion, is all they needed to see to know they needed to explore their other options.
