According to TSN’s Bob McKenzie, the Phoenix Coyotes and restricted free agent Mikkel Boedker are reportedly on the verge of agreeing to terms on a two year deal. He said this via twitter tonight.
It seems like this deal is going to happen but has not been made official yet. If you remember earlier in the week, I wrote a story about how Boedker and the Coyotes were trying to get a deal done. Boedker is a young player at 23 years old and played well last season. He had seven goals and 26 points in 48 games.
According to Capgeek.com, Mikkel Boedker made $1.2 million last season and had an annual cap hit of $1.1 million. With Boedker most likely coming back, the Coyotes are pretty much set going into training camp. Phoenix is looking to have a big year and can with the new division realignment across the NHL. Can they make the playoffs? Possibly but the games are played on the ice and not on paper.
