Top 10 Defense Teams for Fantasy Football

10. Buffalo Bills – The Bills have now switched defensive coordinators to Jim Schwartz who has been the head coach for the Detroit Lions for the past few years. The Jim Schwartz defense in Detroit featured a high-powered defensive line that had a knack for creating turnovers. Will Schwartz bring the same type of mentality to Buffalo? Possibly. Although it is tough to imagine such a thing happening due to Buffalo switching over from a 3-4 defensive set to a 4-3. Still, if Schwartz can invent a defense like Detroit, then this could be a nice sleeper defensive pick in fantasy football this year.

9. Green Bay Packers – It may be a stretch putting the Packers this high up considering how much they seemed to have declined ever since their Super Bowl run. Still, its defensive coordinator, Dom Caper’s, make or break season in terms of keeping a job. The Packers have also added Julius Peppers to play alongside Clay Matthews which could become a deadly tandem. Their secondary is also young and improving with 1st-round pick, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, starting at free safety.

8. Cleveland Browns – While the record has been very poor for the Browns, it has not been because of their defense. The offense has struggled but the defense has done it’s part to keep the team in most games. They have added rookie, Justin Gilbert, to play next to Joe Haden at cornerback which could turn their secondary into elite status. For fantasy, it is a guarantee the Browns defense will lay around for most, if not, all of the draft but do not sleep on them. They will be better than most would think.
