7. Kansas City Chiefs – The Chiefs defense features excellent linebackers in Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. The combination of their defense and a very efficient offense is what made the Chiefs able to pursue a playoff run last season following having the worse record in the NFL the year before. Every position on their defense is covered with talent and features plenty of depth. Look for them to have another solid season as a group.

6. Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals have a tremendous secondary in Tyrann Mathieu, Patrick Peterson, and Antonio Cromartie. The only problem they possibly could have involves their linebackers and defensive line depth. This has been an area the team has been trying to adjust, as of late. They have added a couple of guys here and there who could bring in veteran experience to a young defense. If their defensive line and linebackers can hold up just enough this season, this overall defense could become a top-3 defense.

5. Carolina Panthers – The Panthers defensive line and linebackers is what make their engine keep going as an overall defense. Luke Kuechly, Star Lotulelei, Greg Hardy, and the list keeps going on and on. The Panthers will be one of the most safe picks when choosing a defense for your fantasy team. They are very sound at all spots and will limit points allowed to a very minimal number.
