The Sun Devils took care of business last week by blowing out Weber State at home. Week 2 presents a road trip to face the New Mexico Lobos at University Stadium. The Lobos are coming off a 31-24 win over UTEP where they rushed for an eye-popping 410 yards. The Lobos running attack will be a nice test for the young Sun Devils defense. Unfortunately for the Lobos, their non-existent passing attack will make it difficult to move the ball against the Sun Devils defense

For the Sun Devils the big story is the progression of running back DJ Foster. The Junior running back is the key to a successful Sun Devils season. Foster”s 147 yards and 3 touchdowns against Weber State are a great sign for the Sun Devils offense and it will be interesting to see if he can rack up some big yards against a suspect Lobos run defense.
Although the Sun Devils are favored to win by 25 points, head coach Todd Graham wasn’t taking anything for granted and pushed his team hard in practice.
"“I really got after their tail today. We’re practicing good, but not great and that’s not going to get it done. We just had some errors. We don’t cover a guy here or there. We make a mental error, a critical error. What it is, is just being young and not knowing how to practice at that high level.”"
Graham understands for the Sun Devils to get back to the title game they must practice and play at a high level everyday. Otherwise it will be difficult to compete with arguably the best conference in the country.
