Yasmani Tomas, the next best player to come out of Cuba, held a private workout for the Arizoan Diamondbacks according to Chris Cotillo Baseball Insider for MLB Daily Dish.
Yasmani Tomas is projected to get a contract worth more than the one Rusney Castillo signed with the Boston Red Sox.
Although he is still developing, the 23-year-old outfield is has major league power and could be an anchor in the Diamondbacks outfield while providing middle of the line-up power. His offense is solid but questions about his defense and base running skills may scare teams away.

So far the other teams that have shown interest are the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies.
Yasmani Tomas will command between $22-25 million a year which means the penny wise Diamondbacks will have to cealr some payroll to make room for any potential contract. That is a lot of money for a developement project. That said it could be worth the investment for the rebuilding Diamondbacks who aren’t expected to compete for at least a couple of seasons.
