The Phoenix Suns are built on speed and scoring. On Tuesday night they had both aspects of their game taken away from them against the Memphis Grizzlies on their home floor.
The Grizzlies defense slowed the small and speedy offense of the Phoenix Suns to a crawl on Tuesday forcing the game into the paint. That is where the Suns were out-manned and ineffective.

It is a strategy the Phoenix Suns can expect to see used against them moving forward as best teams in the West look to keep the Suns from getting a foothold in the standing.
The Suns are currently 3-2 and sitting in the 8th spot in the Western Conference. Two of their three wins came against the lowly Lakers meaning they are 1-2 against the rest of the conference. Thos kind of numbers won’t earn the Suns a much of anything especially a playoff spot.
The Phoenix Suns have a 4 game home stand starting on Friday. Three of those teams, Sacramento, Brooklyn and Charlotte they should beat. The game on November 9th against the Golden State Warriors will be a challenge but one a team in contention should rise too.
If the Suns are not 6-3 coming out of this home stand we could be in for a long season.
The next four games will tell whether or not the Phoenix Suns are playoff contenders or pretenders.
