Are the Phoenix Suns good enough to win the Pacific Division?
By Omar Soussi
The Phoenix Suns are 10-6 and in third place in the Pacific division, trailing both the Clippers and the Warriors. Now both the Warriors and the Clippers seem to be the odds on favorite to win the division but the Phoenix Suns won’t go quietly into the night. They’ve beaten the Warriors at home and they gave the Clippers all they could handle in a loss to the Clippers. The Suns will be a thorn in their sides for the division and now, I’ll tell you how they will compete for the Pacific Division.
They can score at will
This team puts up points in an ridiculous fashion. They average 105.9 points per game, 4th in the entire NBA. The Suns are ridiculously talented on offense. Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green helps make this team be the offensive power it needs to be.

They are only going to get better as they age in the season
You can say this with any team but with a team with so many young players that phrase applies well here. Under second year head coach Jeff Hornacek, the Phoenix Suns will continue to improve especially on defense as they progess through the season and gain valuable experience. I saw this when they played the Spurs and the Warriors at home. They improved dramatically in field goals percentages and in 3 point percentages when they played the Warriors and by doing that, the game wasn’t as close as it was in the Spurs Suns game
They’re ready for the next step toward greatness
You can kind of put this in the second reason but when you’ve been close the way the Suns were last year, it makes you hungry and motivated. They’ve been waiting for this season to come for the entire offseason. They had to have been busting their buts for the moment to step up on the plate and take home the gold (by gold I mean a playoff berth and a divisional title). You can see when they play a competitor for the West, they bring their A game.
We’ve already seen them ball out against the Warriors and the Spurs already this season and got wins over them. We just have to see if they can finish the season strong and take home the gold.
