Sun Devils Basketball Recruiting Predictions

Almost all of the high school and college transfer athletes have made a decision on where they will be attending school this year. Arizona State has just brought in new head coach Bobby Hurley from the University of Buffalo. He is big on getting at least 1 maybe 2 more guys.

ASU hoops has already landed Andre Spight from South Plains College. He transferred from there and will be apart of the basketball team this coming year. His choices were between Creighton and Oregon. Spight decommitted from UTEP in September of 2014 to sign with ASU in August. He is a 6’3 SG out of Pasadena, California, which is USC territory. Only 165 pounds, Spight is a fast and deadly shooter which should give him some time coming into his first year in Tempe.

From my most recent article, I talked about 7’0 PF/C Thon Maker. He is surprisingly picking the Sun Devils in his top three choices which are between Kansas and Kentucky. According to 24/7 sports, the crystal ball says 43% in favor of ASU. Kentucky is at 24% and Kansas at 19%. Maker is the 9th ranked recruit in the nation where he is only one of the couple seven footers in the 2015 class. I think as of now, ASU has a very serious shot at landing him, but Hurley will have to beat out John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats in my opinion.

The last player Arizona State has a big shot at landing is 6’8 PF Andre Adams from IMG Academy in Florida. He is originally from Tolleson, Arizona which gives him an in state feel. With his tremendous size at 200 pounds, he is a force to be reckoned with in the paint. His top 2 choices have come down to ASU and USC. The crystal ball says the Sun Devils are at a 78% lead. Adams also had authors from Washington, Boise State, and UNLV.

If ASU doesn’t land another recruit, that does not mean they will be a last place team in the Pac-12. If they do land Maker, however, they will have a big chance at making the NCAA tournament next season in my opinion. He will add the size and offensive awareness that they need. Adams will most likely land with the Sun Devils as he will add some firepower too.
