Diamondbacks Player Spotlight: Patrick Corbin
By Cody Fincher
Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Patrick Corbin continues his rehab from Tommy John Surgery he underwent before the 2014 season began. Corbin tore his ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow during his last start of the 2013 Spring Training and missed all of last season and all of this season so far.

Corbin’s rehab seems to be going as planned so far. His rehab start on Saturday for Double A Mobile was solid. He pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and walked four batters. Another encouraging sign for Corbin is that he was able to throw 79 pitches, 51 of them for strikes.
One of the biggest obstacles for a pitcher recovering from TJ Surgery is to be able to pitch deep into games and increase their pitch counts, so Corbin is well on his way to being fully recovered.
Corbin had a breakout 2013 season. He started 32 games and finished with a record of 14-8. He threw over 200 innings while sporting a 3.41 ERA. Corbin was also selected to his first all-star team in 2013.
According to Jack Magruder of Fox Sports Arizona, Corbin is scheduled to make two more rehab starts before rejoining the D-Backs starting rotation. Depending on the days he starts, look for Corbin to rejoin the D-Backs around the beginning of July.
