Game 2:
The second game of this series was much different from the first. Robbie Ray was back on the mound after his brilliant performance against the Angels but his night on the bump was much different from the last.
The Padres scored four runs off Ray including a Derek Norris home run in the third inning and a couple of RBI base hits by Clint Barmes. Barmes beat Arizona up all night and finished the game going 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s.
Wellington Castillo would finally get the D-Backs on the scoreboard in the seventh inning with an RBI double that scored Chris Owings but that would be the only run of the night for Arizona.
The score held at 4-1 going to the ninth but the Padres capped off the game by scoring three more runs, one of which came from the bat of Melvin Upton Jr. who blasted a solo home run to left field.
The man of the night was the starting pitcher for San Diego. Tyson Ross pitched a complete game giving up only one run on four hits while striking out nine batters. Ross even roped an RBI triple in the ninth inning as well.
Final score: Padres 8, D-Backs 1
