Hitting:

For the D-Backs, I think it’s pretty obvious that all eyes will always be on Paul Goldschmidt when he’s at the plate. Goldy hit 19 home runs total last season and this season, his stats have been, dare I say, MVP worthy. Goldschmidt is hitting .354  with 20 home runs to with 60 RBI’s and 13 stolen bases.

But there are some other Arizona hitters that are worth keeping your eye out for. A.J. Pollock has hit .320 with 4 RBI’s in the last six games. Nick Ahmed is hitting .333 with 3 RBI’s in his last five games played.

This next one might be a little surprising but don’t sleep on Welington Castillo. In his 12 games with the D-Backs this year, Castillo is hitting .275 with 3 home runs and 8 RBI’s. He has been a really nice compliment to the Arizona lineup since he joined the team.

Some hitters to watch for San Diego include Clint Barmes, Yonder Alonso and Alexi Amarista.

In his last five games, Barmes is hitting .400 with 4 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Alonso is hitting .316 with four walks in his last six games played. Amarista is hitting .286 with 4 RBI’s in that time span as well.

Those previously mentioned players are swinging the bat well and that doesn’t even include the big threats that San Diego brings on a nightly basis with guys like Matt Kemp, Justin Upton and Melvin Upton Jr.

First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. PT. Game 2 is also 7:10 p.m. PT. Game 3 is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. PT.
