Until Goldschmidt begins to slow down offensively, he should continue to remain on the players to watch list, in my opinion.

He returns this week, not only because he is one of the best hitters in baseball, but because he has good offensive numbers against the Dodgers this season.

In the nine games he has faced the Dodgers so far, Goldy is hitting .417 with four home runs.

A .300 career hitter, Goldy continues to hit for power and sport a high average. He’s hitting .349 with 20 home runs and 62 RBIs.

Oddly enough, Goldy is hitting better this season when he his behind in the count. He’s hitting .359 when behind, compared to .282 when he is ahead. That is pretty much a pitcher’s worst nightmare at the plate.

It’s almost certain that he will give the Dodgers a headache while giving the fans at Chase Field something to cheer for during the series.
