The Arizona State Sun Devils will enter the season ranked No. 16 in the nation, while the defending PAC-12 South Champion Arizona Wildcats will enter the season ranked No. 22.
The Sun Devils and Wildcats are two of six PAC-12 teams listed in the top-25 to start the year.
The Oregon Ducks head the PAC-12 in the rankings as they will start the year ranked No. 5 in the nation with USC also in the top-10 at No. 10. UCLA is ranked at No. 14 and the Stanford Cardinal look for a bounce-back season following an 8-5 season last year when they begin at No. 21.
The PAC-12 South features four top-25 teams to start the year with Utah just outside the rankings with the fifth most votes of teams not in the top-25.
Texas A&M, Arizona State’s first opponent of the year, received the second most votes of teams not in the top-25 in what is shaping up to be a solid matchup to kick off the season.
Both the Sun Devils and Wildcats have four opponents ranked in the top-25 to begin the season with Arizona State avoiding Stanford, who has been their kryptonite as of late, and Arizona avoiding Oregon, who they split two games against last year.
