Game One

Diamondbacks 3, Cardinals 5

The first game of the series was a sloppy one for both teams. Unfortunately for Arizona, they were sloppier than St. Louis. Arizona rolled into four double plays and made two errors on defense. Something that is uncharacteristic of the 2015 Diamondbacks. Arizona had plenty of chances to score, but they just couldn’t get that clutch hit.

St. Louis made two errors as well, but they rebounded from them and locked it down when they needed to. They took advantage of Arizona’s mistakes and scored just enough to pull out a win to kick the series off.

Jhoulys Chacin made his debut for Arizona getting the start in this one. He pitched well, his defense behind let him down, but he pitched good enough to warrant getting another start in the rotation on Saturday.

Chacin: 6.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
