HW: The opening spread for the Arizona v. UTSA game for week one favors Arizona by 30.5 points. Do you think that the Wildcats can cover the spread?
SR: The Roadrunners are a very young team, and Ryan Reyes reminded us, “UTSA’s Football program is relatively new as it is in only its fourth season in Conference USA.”
Arizona has lost some key players to season ending injuries in the last month, TE Trevor Woods, Center Carter Woods, Linebacker Cody Ippolito and Antonio Parks. I am sure every team loses players during pre-season, but we have yet to see how the team will do.
The last game was won by Arizona 26-23, but it was a comeback win. Anu Solomon barely made 50 percent of his passes and looked shakey. This is the good news for Arizona, Solomon is healthy and looking to be better than last year, he has an entire exciting season under his belt now.
30.5 points? Probably not, but I wouldn’t be surprised with 15 or more.
