De La Rosa is coming off a less-than-stellar performance against the Cardinals. In that game, De La Rosa lasted five innings, gave up five runs on five hits, walked four and struck out four. Prior to his last start, De La Rosa had been the D-Backs best starter recently. He hadn’t lost a game since July 12 until his start against St. Louis. De La Rosa sits with a record of 11-6 with an ERA of 4.46. His season ERA may be high, but that does not reflect the way he has been pitching over the last month.

Kendrick is coming off the disabled list after recovering from a shoulder injury since July 31. Kendrick has been awful for the Rockies this year. His record is 4-12 with a ridiculously high ERA of 6.43. In his last start against Arizona, Kendrick went 5 2/3 innings, gave up three runs on nine hits and struck out 6. Arizona is the only team he has pitched decently against in the June-July time period before landing on the disabled list.
