Phoenix Suns: Preview of Match-up with Orlando Magic
The Phoenix Suns are 4-11, and in need of a win. They will look to snap their two-game losing streak tonight against the Orlando Magic, who check in at 6-8.
Looking to put together a winning-streak, the Phoenix Suns aim to do just that in their match-up against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.
A win – and consistency for that matter – has been hard to come by this season for Earl Watson and his Suns. Phoenix opened up the season with four-straight losses, and has since continued on that disappointing path.
The Suns have dropped seven of their last nine contests, which brings their record to 4-11. They currently have a slim one-game lead over the Dallas Mavericks (2-11) for worst record in the NBA’s Western Conference.

In the fifteen games they’ve played this year, the Suns have scored over 100 points on thirteen different occasions. They’re eighth-best in all of basketball for 107.9 points per game.
Their defense however, has been the complete opposite as the Suns have allowed opponents to score more than 100 points fourteen times this season. Opponents are averaging 114.3 points per game against them, which ranks them dead last in that category.
The Orlando Magic (6-8) could be a perfect candidate to allow the Suns to get back into the win column with a victory tonight. The Magic haven’t had much success either, and have shown flashes of inconsistency over their first fourteen games.
Orlando began the season with three-straight losses, and then followed that up with three-straight victories. After the 3-3 start, the Magic went on to lose three of their next four games. Coming into Wednesday’s match-up with the Suns, the Magic will look to avoid two-straight losses.
This will be an intriguing meeting between the two teams. The Suns are in the top-ten for points per game, while the Magic sit at 29th with 92.3. And while the Suns struggle with defense, it’s the Magic’s strong suit; allowing opponents to score 99.4 points per game. Orlando’s opponent PPG statistic is good for eighth-best in all of basketball.

While both teams could use a win tonight, the Suns probably need it a little more in order to keep their heads above water at the bottom of the Western Conference.
