No. 8 Pick: Blake Benard

Q. Why did you choose DeMarco Murray with the eighth overall pick?

A. Chose DeMarco Murry with the eight pick primarily because I wanted to select a RB in the first round and in my opinion, he was the best option available at the time. I believe in his ability to put together another solid year and since his trade to the Philadelphia and their quick-pace offense, he will be able to get even more touches and potentially lead this offense.

Q. You currently have Michael Floyd of the Arizona Cardinals slotted at your flex position… are you confident that he will have a turn around season with Palmer back under-center?

A. I’m a big believer in Michael Floyd. Yes, he had a rough year, but it was also a new QB that he had to get used to and with that he still led the team in receiving yards. He’ll rebound especially with a healthy Carson Palmer. I see him grabbing 1,000+ yards with ease. Fitzgerald’s age really became a factor later in the season so I believe Palmer won’t have a choice but to throw to him.

Q. What grade would you give your draft and why?

A. I would probably give myself a B- for my draft grade. I got the QB I wanted in Andrew Luck but I was hoping to land some more solidified receivers. I don’t think Tate, Floyd, Matthews will cut it in the long haul and I’m not a huge fan of landing the Vikings defense. But hey, I was doing this all at a wedding so I give myself props for even getting that much.
